LaQuino Pierre Fletcher

MANSFIELD: LaQuino Pierre Fletcher, 84, of Mansfield, died Tuesday morning March 27, 2007 in Winchester Terrace following a long illness.
He was born June 1, 1922 in Sandusky to Roland and Anna (Runkel) Fletcher and was graduated from Sandusky High School in 1940.
A U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, LaQuino served from November of 1942 to January of 1946 in both the American Theater and Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and earned the rank of Technical Sergeant.
On June 1, 1946, he married Joanne C. Maibohm, and together they celebrated 60 years.
LaQuino worked for Western Electric Phone Company as a supervisor in Columbus for many years. In 1977 he moved to Las Vegas where he worked at the MGM Grand Hotel, until relocating to Palm Harbor, Florida in 1984, and Mansfield in 2006.
He was a lifelong member of the Pioneer Club of Western Electric, and volunteered much of his time to several charities and organizations. He volunteered at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Florida, as well as donating his time and talent to Hospice organizations and the Domestic Violence Center.
In his spare time LaQuino loved grabbing a club and hitting the fairway, and always enjoyed a hand of cards.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Joanne Caroline Maibohm Fletcher of Mansfield, his daughter and son-in-law Jill and Dale Wittkopf of Mansfield, a granddaughter and her husband Dr. Stephanie and Jason Parr of Galion, his son and daughter-in-law Dr. Steven and Kathleen Fletcher, and grandson Ian Fletcher all of Palmyra, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by two brothers James and George Fletcher, as well as two sisters Iva Nath and Virginia Russell.
At Mr. Fletcher’s request, no visiting hours will be observed and private family services will be held at a later date. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
