LEXINGTON, SC:  Laird Keith Birchfield age 66 of Lexington, South Carolina passed away Oct. 13 2017.

Known to his family and friends as Larry, he proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine and an Army National Guardsman.

Larry had a deep love for his current wife Linda and his family.

He is survived by his son Arthur (Deniece) Todd of Lexington, SC;  two daughters Lisa (Paul) Deschner,  and Teresa Tackett all of Mansfield, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Karen Sue (Young) Birchfield and both parents.

Larry was a Mason with Cayce Lodge 384 in South Carolina, a member of the Valley of Columbia Scottish Rite, and a Shriner at Jamil Temple where he enjoyed serving as a clown with the Jamil Jokers.   He always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips.

He enjoyed fishing on Lake Murray, karaoke and the outdoors.  Most precious were the times spent with family and close friends.

Friends may call Friday, October 20, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will follow at 1 pm.  Burial with military honors by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions to Shriner’s Hospital for Children may be made at the funeral home.
