Kyle Gangi

January 01, 1985 ‒ September 01, 2018

Mansfield, Ohio

MANSFIELD: Resilient, strong, and a bit mischievous accurately describes Kyle Gangi.  Living with cerebral palsy, Kyle was told on more than one occasion, that his time was limited.  Benefiting from an exceptional group of caregivers, most recently Tim, Kyle was able to thrive and live a meaningful life.  Kyle repeatedly rebounded against the odds, which taught his family patience, perseverance and what truly matters in life.  No longer bound by his earthly body, Kyle Wayne Gangi passed away, knowing he was loved, on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the age of 33.

Kyle was born January 1, 1985 in San Diego, California to Vincent and Charlene.  On this day, his parents were the first of many to fall in love with Kyle throughout his life.  Eventually gaining an extended family, Kyle’s benevolent personality touched the lives of all he encountered.  At times, he’d play little tricks on them just to see their reaction.  Even his young nieces and nephews loved and cared for Kyle.

One of his favorite hobbies was cheering for his Ohio sports teams, the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, and Ohio State Buckeyes.  During games, his mother always made sure he was rocking the appropriate attire!  Kyle was quite a talented dancer, Uncle Kracker and Michael Jackson were some of his favorite artists.  His best bud and K-9 friend, Zoey, was always at his side.

He is survived by his mother Charlene (James) Richards of Mansfield and father Vincent (Heather) Gangi of Ashland; siblings Aaron (Tracy) Gangi of Stow, Houston (Rena) Richards of Mansfield, Kimberly (Sean) Johnson of Mansfield, Joshua Gangi of Columbus, and Jordan Richards of Ontario; 11 nieces and 5 nephews; uncles Charles (Amy) Moats, aunt Julie (Mark) Haggeth, uncle Jim (Kathy) Gangi, aunt Mona (Randy) Gangi and aunt Nina Dortch.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Kyle Gangi will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 6 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. His family will receive friends two hours prior, from 4-6 pm.  Celebrant Dave Roberts will officiate.

  • Charlene and family, please know that my heart feels your loss. I remember Kyle as a baby and toddler. He did love to laugh and giggle. No one can tell you how to heal from this, or how to feel. Just remember to breathe. To love each other and take one day at a time. Love and light to you. Nina

  • My cousin Kyle left an imprint on my heart when he was very young. I always talked to him hoping we would have an amazing conversation one day. I loved watching him respond to music and to his momma. Charlene, I cannot imagine what you are feeling right now, and I am so sorry for your loss. I know your connection was unlike another and you inspired me! While he will be missed, I can just see him dancing and singing and running to those who have been missing him in Heaven. He, like my son, touched so many lives without them ever realizing their impact on this world! I love you Kyle and cannot wait to have that conversation one day buddy! God Bless!
