MANSFIELD: “Art is not what you see but what you make others see” (Edgar Degas). Krystal Caldwell’s gift of artistic expression allowed others to vividly experience her emotions, thoughts and visions. She was creative, funny and more than anything full of love.
Krystal L. Caldwell of Mansfield now free to dance, smile and sing passed away Monday January 30, 2017 in the emergency department of Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. She was 31.
Born April 4, 1985 in Mansfield, Krystal was always creative and artistic. She painted, sketched and also used wood as a medium to create art pieces. She loved poetry, her poems were beautiful. She listened to many genres of music, her favorite, hip-hop and rap.
Selfless, she loved to care for others and was proud of her certification as an STNA. She had worked in in-home healthcare and for Crystal Care Nursing Home. Krystal loved her family and people were drawn to her unique personality. She had a contagious laugh and could bring a smile to those around her.
She is survived by three children Shianna Caldwell, Karter Chastain, and Karson Chastain all of Mansfield; mother Michelle (James) Baker of Mansfield; father Mark Mau of Florida; brother Mark Whited of Florida, sisters Teresa Hallock and Alyssa Henderson both of Mansfield; maternal grandmother Anita Reale of Mansfield and maternal grandfather Gary (Donna) McNeely of Mansfield; niece Aaliyah King and nephew Colin Klingler.
The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to assist Krystal’s family with cremation services, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
