Kenneth Wayne Firstenberger, 77, of Delaware died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon at his residence. He was born September 23, 1928 in Marion, Ohio to Dallas Firstenberger and Annabelle (Prater) Firstenberger. Former supervisor of the buildings, grounds, and transportation department for Delaware City Schools, he was a longtime Delaware resident who enjoyed woodworking and his time up at Lake Erie. He is survived by 3 daughters, Linda (Richard) Dominy of Greenville, Tennessee, Brenda Durfey and Beth (Keith) McDaniel of Delaware; 2 sons, Charles Davidson of Marion and Rick (Karen) Firstenberger of Ashley; 3 sisters, Carmen Lee of Delaware, Donna (Paul) Cumston and Mary Standley of Bradenton, Florida; brother, Douglas (Sue) Firstenberger of Bradenton, Florida; sister-in-law, Dixie Firstenberger of Ashley; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Macie on June 27, 2006, sister Shirley Collins, and a brother Charles on April 10, 2006. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 10th from 4 – 7 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Bennett Brown Chapel, 1510 W. William St., Delaware. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Craig Arnold officiating. Contributions may be made to Hospice at Grady.
