Kenneth Paul Young, 82, of Ashley died Saturday night at Bennington Glenn Nursing Home. He was born May 13, 1926 in Marengo to Phillip and Virginia (Hayes) Young. He was a veteran of the United States Navy who lived most of his life in Ashley and was a member of the Ashley American Legion and the Delaware Elks Lodge #76. He was an operating engineer for Guzzo Construction Company, Columbus and he was very proud of his 50 years of working as an Operating Engineer. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Evelyn (Fisher) Young; 3 sons, Robert (Nancy) Young of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, Kenneth (Sue) Young of Paulding, Ohio, and Gary (Alice) Young of Mannequin, West Virginia: 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Noel Young and Jim Young of Margeno; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers Holly, Noble, Charles, and Leon; and 1 sister Gussie. Family will receive friends on Tuesday November 18th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 307 East High Street, Ashley and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 19th at 11:00 am with Rev. Dan Lemke officiating. Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery with military honors provided by Delaware County Veteran Association.
