Kenneth L. Lahrmer, 54, of Co. Rd. 121, Mount Gilead, Ohio died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 in The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 21, 1949, the son of the late Fred E. Lahrmer, Sr. and Lorna Blind Lahrmer who survives in Cape Coral, Florida. He graduated from New Albany High School in 1967 prior to serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Core Systems in Mount Gilead and Whirlpool in Marion. Ken was a member of the Centerburg Conservation Club, the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by Rose M. Smith Lahrmer, whom he married Oct. 20, 1990; a son Rodney (Heather) Lahrmer of Thornville, Ohio; two daughters Lorna (Dan) Wilson of Mount Gilead, Ohio and Misty (Derrick Wharton) Senter of Cardington, Ohio; two grandchildren Dallas and Alyssa; and two brothers Robert (Sandy) Lahrmer of Cape Coral, FL and Fred (Martha) Lahrmer, Jr. of Homer, Ohio.

Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Ohio Primitive Baptist Church, 678 Co. Rd. 24, Marengo, Ohio. Funeral services will be held there Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. Memorials can be made to the James Cancer Center or the Leukemia Society. Arrangements are in care of the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
