Mount Gilead: Kenneth Eugene Queen, 75, of County Road 59, Mount Gilead, Ohio died in his residence Saturday afternoon August 17, 2002 following a long illness.

He was born October 4, 1926 in Mount Vernon, to Allen Floyd and Nina (Dudding) Queen. A lifelong area resident, he attended West Miller School and was graduated from Johnsville High School with the Class of 1944.

Kenny owned Queen’s Potato Farm and also raised beef and grain. He was a member of the Ohio Potato Growers Association and in the late 80’s served on the Morrow County Children’s Services Board. He also was a fan of CB radio.

Mr. Queen served as an usher at First Alliance Church, was a Trustee and served on the Building Committee at North Woodbury Community Church, and was currently a member of Clear Fork Alliance Church in Bellville.

He is survived by his wife Maxine Marcea (Fisher) Queen, whom he married September 20, 1953; three sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Elizabeth Queen of Mt. Gilead, Brian and Ida Queen of Mt. Gilead, and Wayne and Teresa Queen of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and George Beck and Janet and William Ault all of Mt. Gilead; a 100 year old Aunt Anna Sheffer of Mt. Vernon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Harold Queen and Lyle Queen and a sister Margaret Queen.

Friends may call Tuesday August 20, 2002 from 5 to 8 pm in the Clear Fork Alliance Church, 1008 State Route 97, Bellville, where the funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 am. The Rev. Michael Stine will officiate. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Memorial contributions to the Clear Fork Alliance Church and Morrow County Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
