Kenita “Kay” Erow Winbigler, age 89, of Chesterville, died on Friday morning, October 5, 2007, at the Morrow Manor Nursing Home in Chesterville.
She was born in Mount Vernon, on July 11, 1918, the daughter of the late Homer and Josephine Dailey.
For many years, Kay worked as a group leader for Stevens Manufacturing in Lexington. She was a member of the Waterford Church of Christ.
With a kind heart, Kay always thought of others and her special birthday cards will be missed. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved the gifts she had in store for them each time they visited.
Kay enjoyed visiting with her many friends and she had no troubles carrying conversation as she truly was a “talker.”
She will be missed by her daughter: Jolene (Ronald) Brooks of Mansfield; three grandchildren: Paul (Linda) Brooks, Paula (Kenneth) Cook, and Rebekah Brooks, all three of Mansfield; seven great-grandchildren: William, Jonathon, Lauren, Allison, Emily, Samuel, and Tyler; brother: Kenneth (Wanda) Dailey of Mount Vernon; sister: Norma Jean Walton of Mount Gilead; one step-son: Kenneth (June) Winbigler of Bryan; three step-daughters: Gladys (Bob) Knight of Jackson Springs, North Carolina, Sandy Pratts of Mansfield, and Dorothy (Bill) Fix of Michigan; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Charles Stiffler of Mount Gilead.
Including her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her first husband: George Erow Sr.; second husband: William “Bill” Winbigler; two step-sons: George Erow Jr. and Edward Winbigler; four sisters: Ruth Davis, Ethel Skeens, Thelda Kershner, and Silviann Dailey.
Her family will greet friends on Monday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mt. Gilead, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Fix officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
