Kelly Sue Johnson, 56, of Marion, passed away August 3, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Kelly was born on November 15, 1964 in Marion, the daughter of Bob and Rebecca (Postell) Patrick.  She graduated from Marion Harding High School and worked at Whirlpool Corporation for many years.  She loved crocheting, writing, and accompanying her beloved Grandma Betty to the casino.  Kelly deeply loved animals and she took in and cared for more stray dogs than her family can count.  She will always be remembered as a kind, caring, and gentle woman.

Kelly will be missed by her family and friends.  She is survived by her mother Rebecca Patrick; lifelong family friend Sharon Salyer, sister Tishia Place and brother-in-law Danny Place; daughter Katie Mirise and son-in-law Curtis Mirise; son Bruce Johnson, daughter in law Crystal Johnson and their son Carter; nephew Jesse (Gloria) Hunt and their son Aavery Hunt; and niece Carissa (David) Hostetler and their children Oliver and Locklyn.  She is preceded in death by her father, Bob Patrick, and her grandparents, Robert and Betty Postell and Charles and Edith Patrick.

A private celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Area Humane Society, 2264 Richland Road, Marion.
