Kayrn L. “Sandy” Furley Hughes, 70, of Mount Vernon died Tuesday evening, March 6, 2018 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.  She was born July 26, 1947 in Mount Vernon to the late Clyde A. and Katherine Marie (Perkins) Furley.

Sandy graduated from Centerburg High School in 1965.  She was an administrator for the Showalter Group Homes.  Sandy was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #760 in Mount Vernon.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Myers of Mount Vernon; her grandchildren, Cory, Brandi and Amber Myers; a great grandson, Wyatt; sisters, Linda Gates of Mount Vernon, her twin Kathryn “Susie” Duncan of Mount Vernon and Patti Furley of Mount Vernon; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Everhart; and a brother, Robert Johns

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service celebrating the life of Sandy at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
