Kathy Lynn Lodwick
April 05, 1959 ‒ September 15, 2013
MANSFIELD: Kathy Lodwick was a strong woman. She was determined to see herself through the difficulties of life, difficulties that would get the better of a weaker woman. Her perseverance not only improved herself but also left a legacy of strength for her sons.
Kathy Lynn Lodwick passed away in her home Sunday, September 15, 2013 following a brief illness. She was 54.
Born April 5, 1959 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Daniel G. and Elizabeth A. (Contrascere) Mauritz. Kathy was graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1977 and furthered her education at Marion Technical College in the field of nursing.
Most recently, she worked as a home health aide with Marie’s Care in Mansfield. Though she spent a number of years living in Florida and Alabama, Kathy always returned to her hometown. She was the type to lend a hand in all situations and would give of herself generously without a second thought.
She filled her spare time with gardening and doting on her favored feline companion. Kathy’s absolute favorite activity was taking her grandkids for a swim.
She was an active member of My Father’s House in Mansfield and had previously taught Sunday School at several of her home churches.
Kathy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sabrina Lodwick of Mansfield and Daniel and Cheryl Lodwick of Columbus; parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Mauritz of Mansfield; siblings, Susan (Jeff) Goff of Mansfield and Todd Mauritz of New York City; four grandchildren, Star Lodwick, Gavin Lodwick, Thomas Shaffer, and Isaiah Lodwick; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Nick) Blanchard, Jeremy Goff, and Sarah Goff.
Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where her funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Pastor Les Farley will officiate and burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory to My Father’s House may be made at the funeral home.
