Kathy Lynn Gollihue Walker

December 28, 1960 ‒ February 08, 2010

Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE- Kathy Lynn Walker enjoyed the simple things in life. Sitting on the porch swing with the smell of fresh cut grass in the air, or gazing into a bonfire on a cool autumn evening. Kathy was content being with her loving family and extended family (also known as her pets). On Monday morning February 8, 2010 Kathy Lynn Gollihue Walker passed away following a brief hard fought battle with cancer. She was just 49 years old.

Kathy was born December 28, 1960 in Mansfield to Clayo and Hazel (Elliott) Gollihue. A lifelong area resident Kathy worked as a sales clerk for the Mickey Mart in Bellville and recently at the BP/Duke on State Route 97 just outside of Bellville.

Blessed with a creative side, Kathy enjoyed crocheting as well as creating hand made jewelry. If she knew it was your birthday you could expect a personalized card sent with meaning and thought.

From a young age Kathy had a soft spot for pets. As a young girl she cared for her pet spider monkey-Chatty and to this day has a house full of cats and dogs.

Known as a straight shooter you always knew where you stood with Kathy. She just wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was.

Some hobbies include gardening and caring for her rose bushes, listening and dancing to oldies music as well as playing the lottery.

Described as having an infectious laugh, Kathy was fun loving and compassionate.

She is survived by her loving husband Bruce Walker of Bellville whom she married August 12, 1990; daughter Sheena Woodard of Fredericktown; siblings and their spouses Arlene Foncannon of Mansfield, Dianne and Bill Nemtuda of Mansfield, Clayo Gollihue Jr. of Arizona, Marlene Ute of Mansfield, and Carlos and Lisa Gollihue of Galion; father and mother-in-law Dwight M. and Wilma J. Walker of Mansfield; brothers-in-law Jeffrey D. Walker of Florida and Michael S. Walker of Fredericktown, and numerous extended family.

Kathy shared a special love for her pet cats Vickson, Texas, Calli, and Ginger; Lab-Tipper and Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier-Peanut; as well as numerous chickens and ducks.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Clayo and Hazel Gollihue.

The Walker family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where her funeral celebrating the life of Kathy Lynn Gollihue Walker will be held Friday at 11am. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
