Kathryn Violet Hinton, age 84, of Mount Vernon, OH passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Country Court Care Center in Mount Vernon, OH. Kathryn was born March 11, 1932 in Fairmont, WV, to the late Charles C. Armstrong and Pearl L. Bondy Armstrong.

Her family moved to Ohio in 1942 and moved to the Croton-Rich Hill area. In 1946 Kathryn met the love of her life William Hinton Jr. and married in 1948.  Kathryn and Jr. spent 65 years together before he passed in 2014.  Kathryn attended Central Church of Christ and the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Karen (Rob) Bertschy of Mount Vernon, OH; a son, Steve (Lisa) Hinton of Mount Vernon, OH; grandchildren, Sarah Bertschy, Mason Bertschy, Rachel (Dallas) Hammons, Jessica (Kevin) Rine, Nichole (Chris) Ebersole; 5 great-grandchildren, Alexander Bertschy, Parker and Cooper Rine, Gavin and Aidan Ebersole; brothers, Clyde (Bonnie) Armstrong of Howard, OH, Leroy (Linda) Armstrong of Sebring, FL, Damon (Faye) Armstrong of Marion, OH; a sister, Linda (Eddy) Roshon of Sunbury, OH; nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Hinton Jr; a brother, Carl Armstrong; sisters, Alice Wright, Dorothy Armstrong, Virginia Cochran and Opal Heldreth.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 5-8 PM, with a funeral service on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home; 619 E. High St. Mount Vernon, OH, 43050, with Mr. Ken Springer and Michael McGuire. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
