Kathryn L. Park, a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, passed away November 30, 2002 surrounded by her family. She had suffered an extended illness. Born January 25, 1928 to the late Ezra C. and Alta V. (Taylor) Ferguson, she graduated from Mount Vernon High School with the class of 1946. Kathryn was a former member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, a volunteer for the American Red Cross at Knox Community Hospital and was retired from Kenyon College.
She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-five years Michael L. Park, formerly of Centerburg, a son, Michael L. Park Jr. of Columbus, three daughters, Carole (John) Kemplin of Butler, Linda Sturdivant of Holiday, Florida, Barbara (Thomas Green) of New London, Connecticut, grandsons, Christopher Rafferty and PFC Benjamin Kemplin, granddaughters, Christine Luckeydoo and Michelle Sturdivant , great granddaughters, Lauren and Peyton Netopski, a brother, Frederick (Avril) Ferguson of California and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Ferguson, Doris Willison and Edna Jenkins.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service Friday December 27, 2002 at 10 AM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
