Kathryn N. Mowry

BELLVILLE ~ Kathryn N. Mowry, age 92, of Bellville, passed away Friday morning November 20, 2009 in Country Meadow Care Center following a short illness.
She was born December 17,1916 near Lexington, to Charles G. and Mae (Diehl) Klauer, and was graduated from Lexington High School in 1935.
On August 20, 1938 she married Bellville native Carl W. Mowry, and they remained lifelong Bellville residents, raising a family, and supporting the community. During WWII Kathryn balanced family life while working at Westinghouse.
In her younger years, Kathryn was a member of the Bellville Band Boosters. She enjoyed time spent with family camping at Eagles Point as well as trips to Michigan hunting for mushrooms.
A faithful member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Kathryn was active serving in the Women’s Missionary Society.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Richland County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Women, Chestnut Hill Sewing Club, and volunteered with the Richland County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn & Peter Haip of Lexington; her son and daughter-in-law Richard & Carol Mowry of Mansfield; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; her sister Martha Taylor of Dublin; sisters-in-law Faith and Dorothy Mowry both of Bellville; brother-in-law Ken Mowry of Bellville; and numerous extended family.
Her husband Carl preceded her in death on October 13, 1999.
The Mowry family will receive friends Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
