Kathryn Maude (McMullen) Clark

May 15, 1930 ‒ March 20, 2021

Marengo, Ohio

Kathryn Maude (McMullen) Clark, age 90, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021.  She was born in Marengo on May 15, 1930, to Frederick McMullen and Fern (Conway) McMullen, both of whom preceded her in death.

Surviving Kathryn, and cherishing her memory, are her sons, Fred (Debra) Clark of Raleigh, North Carolina, Larry James “Jim” Clark of Marengo, Thomas (Kim) D. “Tom” Clark of Marengo; her daughter, Nancy (David) Peck of Marengo; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle Clark; brother, Horace McMullen; and daughter, Janice Clark.

Kathryn loved gardening and cooking – she was a remarkable cook- and anyone coming to the house would not leave hungry.  She grew raspberries and strawberries, canned beans and froze chickens.  Kathryn was handy in the kitchen – and most anywhere on the farm.  She loved the outdoors and traveling.  Kathryn and Doyle would travel to Florida every winter.  Among her proudest achievements was earning her GED as an adult learner.  Above all, Kathryn was a loving and attentive wife, mother and grandmother.  Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren.  Kathryn will be greatly missed by all her family.

Kathryn’s family is planning a graveside service for her at Bloomfield Cemetery on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 11am.  DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Kathryn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215).  Memories of Kathryn and condolences may be posted at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.

  • I will miss Kate dearly, I loved her so much, she was the best Grandma to me. I wish I could be there for her service, but will have to be content with loving memories of her and knowing that she is in a better place.

  • Jim, I think I only met your mother one time, but I remember her infectious laugh! I’m sure my mom, Mabel, (Jean Bible) is talking her ear off now.

  • SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS.
