Kathleen S. Wallace, 92 of Galion, died Saturday, Aug 25, 2012 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion.

Kathleen was born Dec 1, 1919 in Berrien Springs, Michigan; she was the daughter of the late Leo F. and Viola C. Smith Schwartz. She was preceded in death on May 20, 1989 by her husband, Charles Omar “Wally” Wallace whom she married on May 10, 1944.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1938 and St. Lawrence School of Nursing in Lansing, Michigan in 1941.

Kathleen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She worked at Galion Community Hospital where she was a registered nurse for almost 40 years. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, sister and daughter.

Surviving are her three daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen Bunn of Galion, Colleen Howells of Columbus, Rebecca and Robert Napier of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Amelia Wallace of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Katy Mark Erlsten, Nicholas Amber Wallace and Robert Jenni Napier; two great granddaughters, Anna Erlsten and Elizabeth Erlsten; one brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Helen Schwartz of Galion, one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Roger Bloom of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Eugene Carter of Galion. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, William and Richard Schwartz and two sisters, Monica Carter and Phyllis Hughes.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug 27, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday lead by Deacon Greg Kirk. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, with Fr. John Miller officiating. Internment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Galion.
