Kathleen A. “Kate” Albrecht, age 43 formerly of Centerburg passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan, where her husband was stationed.
She was born on November 15, 1967 in Columbus to the late Ronald and Rebecca (Beard) Young. A 1986 graduate of Centerburg High School, she married her high school sweetheart: U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, Dean Albrecht shortly after graduation. Together they shared 25 wonderful years of marriage, raising a family, and traveling the world. She followed her husband’s military career while stationed at 8 different U.S. Air Force bases from Aviano, Italy to Kadena Air Base in Japan.
A women of deep and abiding faith, she was a dedicated wife and mother. The home school teacher of her children, she also became the mother of any child whom entered her home. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Fond of all animals and she was a wonderful cook, as her kitchen was always open and pasta dishes were her favorite’s to prepare.
Never judgmental, she always brought joy to those around her. Kate had a passion for reading, especially books of history. She enjoyed music, playing video games with her family, and traveling the world, with Spain and Alaska being her favorites.
She was happiest guiding her children and teaching them about God. She will be remembered for her warm genuine smile and as a woman of constant love and grace.
In addition to her husband: Dean, she is survived by her treasured children: Logan, Reece, Rebecca, and Emily, Aunts: Ginger Cooper, Sharon (Dick) Hayes, and Debbie Jenkins, and parents-in-law whom considered her their own: Fred and Sally Albrecht.
Friends may call Monday 2-4 & 6-8 at the Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 S. Columbus Road, Centerburg, 43011, where a service giving glory to God for the life of Kathleen Albrecht will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, with Fred Albrecht and Roger Crego Evangelist’s officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
