Karen Sue Kershner, 63, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the home of her son in Columbus. She was born in Mount Vernon on April 16, 1955 to Nila (Williams) Thomas Leedy and the late Myron Eugene “Gene” Thomas.

Karen enjoyed painting, working with flowers, crafts, knitting and was an avid reader.  She was a Lutheran by faith.

Karen is survived by her husband, Joe Kershner whom she married on February 24, 1973; sons, Preston (Vivian) Kershner and Patrick (Alana) Kershner of Columbus; grandchildren, Ben, Alex, Andy, Aileen, Alex and Kaysha; her mother, Nila of Mount Vernon; and sisters, Linda Knuckles of Mount Vernon and Kim Daughriety of Port Orange, FL.

The family will have a private service.
