Karen E. Sampsel, 62, Crestline, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at Village Care Center in Galion, after a two year illness.

Born Aug. 18, 1947 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Sampsel and Leona H. Garrison Sampsel.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1966 and a member of First United Methodist Church in Crestline. Karen did a lot of baking, making wedding cakes and candy. She worked at the former Wonderland Cake Shop in Bucyrus for many years and various other places in Crawford County including the dietary department of Galion Community Hospital, Geyers Super Value in Galion, Quality Management in Mansfield where she cleaned banks and the telephone company office in Galion and Weithman Brothers Construction. Karen was a former member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 177, Galion.

She is survived by one sister, Kathy A. Sampsel of Galion.

Graveside services at Fairview Cemetery will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating.
