June Iris Miner, 79, wife of William (Bill) Miner, died peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2012 with her family by her side. A lifelong resident of Delaware, she was born on June 25, 1932 to Kenneth and Lillian (Leasure) Thomas. June was a graduate of Bellpoint High School and Grant School of Nursing. She was a retired registered nurse, working at Jane Case, Grady Memorial and private physicians throughout her career. During her lifetime she enjoyed bowling, crocheting, sewing, and card club. After retirement, she enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, gardening and spending her summers in Gorham Maine at their cabin on Peguawket Lake and Bill’s loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Kimberly Miner, granddaughter Sara Foster, son-in-law Steven Foster, brothers Kenneth Thomas and Richard Thomas, and a sister Jane Thomas. Surviving her are her husband of 57 years, William Miner; son William Thomas Miner; daughters and sons-in-law Jennifer & Dennis Hardin, Wilma & Mark Frost; grandchildren, William Christopher Miner, Theresa (Jason) Miller, Andrew Hardin, Katelyn Frost, Samantha Frost, Markah Frost; great-granddaughter Ava Miller. She is also survived by her brother John Thomas of Springfield, OH; sisters Joan Rife of Delaware and Judith (Orin) Lamport of Fittstown OK; sister-in-law Helen Thomas of Virginia. June is also survived by William’s family; Newbern (Rosemarie) Miner, Shirley (Earl) Erickson, Beverly (Darwin) Bustin-Hathaway, Ruth Cox, Charlotte (James) Stevens, Malcom (Launa) Miner, Gene (Beverly) Miner, Ronald (Sandra) Miner, Marilyn (Larry) Wood, Sandra Foster, Joan (Mike) Brown, Fred (Sandra) Miner, sister-in-law Sally Miner; brother-in-law Phillip Boothby, along with dozens of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Odyssey Hospice and Delaware Court Healthcare Center for the end of life compassion and care that they provided. The family will receive friends at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home (1510 W. William St. Delaware, OH 43015) on Monday, February 13th from 5-7pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.
