MANSFIELD: M. June (Prosser) Carpenter passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 in her home. She was 83.
June was born on June 14, 1929 in Mansfield to parents Franklin P. and Edith D. (Dickson) Prosser and was graduated from Mansfield Senior High.
On November 6, 1948 she married D. Phillip Carpenter who preceded her in death on March 19, 1998. Together, she and her husband owned and operated Carpenter Associates, Inc. Business Forms.
June was a member of First English Lutheran Church since 1940.
June was an active member of the community as a business woman, volunteer and charity worker. She volunteered at MedCentral Hospital as a Gray Lady, with the Girl Scouts and at the Domestic Violence Shelter.
In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by her children Stephen P. Carpenter, and Susan (Carpenter) Watson; siblings Lloyd “Jiggs” Prosser, Kenneth Prosser, and Evelyn Marshman; daughter-in-law Jean J. Carpenter; and grandson Phillip Robert Carpenter.
June is survived by 3 grandchildren: Melissa Carpenter-Perez of Chicago, IL, Matthew S. Carpenter of Fairview Park, and Kristin L. Carpenter of Lakewood; one great-grandson Jacob S. Perez; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for June will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at First English Lutheran Church with calling hours held one hour prior. The Reverend Paul L. Larson will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Med-Central Hospice may be made at the funeral home.
