Julie Ann (Gatton) Fulton

September 02, 1953 ‒ October 04, 2021

Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE: Julie Ann (Gatton) Fulton, 68, passed away Monday morning October 4, 2021 at her rural Bellville home following a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

The daughter of James and Roma (Farst) Gatton, Julie was born September 2, 1953 in Mansfield, Ohio.  She was graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1971 and attended Mansfield Beauty College.  Soon after graduation she worked at RuLen Beauty Bar in Bellville, and eventually became the owner.  After many years as a beautician, she went to work alongside her mother, father, and brother in their family business, SunBurst Light Corp.  She retired in 2010.

She met Robert Fulton in 1977 at the Bellville Fair and they were married in 1978.  They shared 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.

Julie was an amazing artisan who could paint, hook rugs, and craft almost anything.  Never idle, Julie also loved to tend her flower gardens, search for antiques, spend vacations at a beach, and cook wonderful holiday meals.

She was hard-working, and a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she followed and encouraged their endeavors. To know Julie was to love and appreciate her sense of humor, many talents, and profound love for family and friends.  She will be greatly missed but always fondly remembered.

She is survived by her son Andrew (Tracy) Fulton of Butler and daughter Jamie (Philip) Skaggs of Bellville; grandchildren Alex Fulton, Austin Kurtz, and Nicholas and Lacey Skaggs; brother Mark (Lois) Gatton; aunt Donna Turner; sister-in-law Joan Eyster; and special friends Kenny and Vickie Balliet.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fulton.

The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is honored to assist the Fulton family with private cremation services.

Memorial contributions may be made in Julie’s memory to ProMedica Hospice, 685 Delaware Avenue #300, Marion, Ohio 43302.
