Judy Swope, 62 of Delaware, died Monday morning March 30, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 14, 1947 to the late Carl H. Steck and Mary (Puttick) Steck of Delaware. She was a member of the Vintage Auto Club of Delaware and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles. She was the director of housekeeping at The Arbors of Delaware and most recently The Laurels of Worthington. She had also worked at Ohio Wesleyan, Kroger and Delaware Lanes.
Judy loved old cars especially her 1965 Black Chevy Impala Convertible she called “Black Beauty”. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles and doing crafts.
Survived by her husband of 45 years: Harry Swope, they were married December 7, 1963 in Delaware; mother: Mary Steck of Delaware; children: Gary (Linda) Swope of Ashley, Brien Swope, Tracy Swope, Mary Chris(Walker) Price all of Delaware; 8 grandchildren; brothers and sisters: C. Edward (Karen) Steck, Linda (Bill) Mills, Sue Steck, Forrest (Deena) Steck, Scott (Debbie) Steck, Sandy VanGundy, Tim (Rochelle) Steck all of Delaware.
Preceded by her father: Carl H. Steck on November 14, 2006; grandparents: Forrest and Emma (Kline) Steck and James and Mary (Wilson) Puttick.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11- 1 and 4-7 at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware. Private graveside inurnment will take place at a later date.
