Judy K. Landacre

Judy Kay Landacre, age 65 of Delaware passed away Tuesday morning, March 17, 2015 at Arbors of Delaware.

Born on January 22, 1950 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Virginia I. (Bateman) McCarty. Judy was a 1968 graduate of Marysville High School and a lifelong resident of  Delaware County. For over 23 years she worked at Advanced Auto Parts in both the office and warehouse.

Always helpful and outgoing, she was a member of the Delaware Eagles and V.F.W. Post 3297. A bowler in her younger years, she enjoyed playing rummy, hiking, camping, and biking.  She collected penguins, earning her the nick name “Pey Pey”.

Hardworking and dedicated to her family, she always put the needs of others before her own. She took pleasure in watching the sports activities of her sons and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her life and brought her much joy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her companion of 18 years Dock Locklear, children Royce (Helen) Landacre of Lagrange, GA, Troy Landacre of Delaware, Travis Landacre (Mindy Summers) of Lehigh, Iowa, Deidre (Jay) Milligan and Nicky (John) Fenn both of Delaware, grandchildren Cameron, Tristin, Tyler, Mikayla, Colin, Sydney, Owen, step-grandchildren Stephen, Rachel, Cooper, and brother Kenny (Barb) McCarty of Buckeye Lake.

She was also proceded in death by an infant brother Bobby Gene McCarty.

Burial will be held at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center.

  • I got to know Judy when I worked at Advance Auto Parts and we always had a running joke when we met. “Stand up Judy” and I will remember her for that. I was sorry to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace.
