Judith K. “Judy” Bross, age 76, of Leesburg, Florida, and formerly of Mount Gilead, died suddenly on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
On February 23, 1941, Judy was born in Mount Gilead, OH, the daughter of the late Brooks Raymond and Joye (Teeple) McAnall.
In 1971 Judy married Jim Bross. They shared over 28 years as husband and wife before he preceded her in death in May 1999. She then had a special 10 year relationship with Robert Gillen. They traveled extensively in their time together before he preceded her in death in 2009.
For 25 years, Judy was a bookkeeper for Bross Electric. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Moose, and American Legion.
An artistic woman, Judy enjoyed painting, stamping and other crafts. She had an energetic personality and stayed active by line dancing, traveling. She also enjoyed camping and fishing in years past. She especially loved time spent in Florida and Holland. To her, there was nothing quite like watching a beautiful sunset in her favorite places. She was also quite thrifty and liked shopping at flea markets.
Judy’s happiest times were being with and helping family and friends. She was most proud of raising her four wonderful children.
Her last eight months were spent with a very dear friend who led her to the Lord.
Judy will be dearly missed by her four children: Teresa (Paul) Borders, Christopher (Diane) Moore, Brian (Janet) Moore, Lisa (Kenny) Dalessandro; step daughter Barbara (Earl) Dalton, stepson David (Tammy) Bross ; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, David Brooks McAnall; and her step-father, Roy Theodore (Ruth) Cameron.
Her family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services to honor and celebrate her life will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 51 W. High Street, Mount Gilead, with Pastor Stephan Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.
