Judith J. Wright

June 15, 1938 ‒ September 28, 2017

Lexington, Ohio

LEXINGTON:  Friendship is a cherished way the Lord cares for his people, and Judy Wright chose to be a vessel of the Lord’s service. In blessing others, she was blessed. Kind, tenderhearted and loving, Judy was well integrated in her family and her church family.

The Lord brought her in to his presence Thursday, September 28, 2017 from her Lexington home. She was 79.

Born Judith Joyce Benner on June 15, 1938 in Lucasville, the seventh of eight children to Howard and Beulah (Gentry) Benner, she was married July 1, 1953 to Clyde A. Wright. They moved to Mansfield in 1968 from Canton.

As president of Wrightway Packaging, Judy helped Clyde in the operations of the family business – a value added company to the corrugated packaging industry – from 1988 to 2007.

A member of Berean Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #236, Mount Vernon, Judy prized her annual trips to the Boardwalk at Myrtle Beach with family and friends.

She is survived by her sons Rick Wright of Lexington, Randy (Michele) Wright of Ft. Thomas, KY, and Craig (Ruth) Wright of Mansfield; grandchildren Sara (Michael) Woogerd, Hannah Wright, Joshua Wright and Kara Wright; great grandchildren Eden  and Lilah Woogerd; a sister Darlene (Gail) Moore of Otway; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband Clyde preceded her in death on December 24, 2003. Also deceased are a sister and five brothers.

The Wright family will receive friends Monday, October 2, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A worship service, giving glory to God for the life of Judy Wright will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Berean Baptist Church, 2145 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield with Pastor Jim Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society may be made at the funeral home.

  • Sending my deepest sympathies to entire Wright family for the loss of your beloved Mom. The tribute in the paper was beautiful , it certainly made those of us that didn’t know your Mom, wish that we had that privilege. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Carol Arnett

  • Dear Family,
How beautiful to see the many happy photos of Aunt Judy and her children, grandchildren and other family and friends. I knew her as beautiful, kind and soft-spoken woman at the family reunions in Lucasville. It is so difficult to say good-by to our loved ones. May Aunt Judy enjoy God’s eternal peace and may all remember her with joy. I wish I could be there to celebrate her life.
