Judith Emily (Lowman) Jones

Judith “Judy” (Lowman) Jones, age 85, after a well-lived and selfless
devotion to her family passed away peacefully at home surrounded
by her family in Sunbury, Ohio on Tuesday, September 22, 2020
following a long battle with multiple health issues. She was a strong,
loving, intelligent and giving soul, who raised her daughters to be
the same. She was beautiful both inside and out, and her faith in
God comforts her and her family with her passing,

“He prayeth best, who loveth best,
All things both great and small,
For the dear God who loveth us,
He made and loveth all.”

Judith was born on July 30, 1935, in Worthington, Ohio to Emily
(Stobbs) and J.C. Lowman, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Worthington High School and attended The Ohio
State University, where she fondly remembered her classmates and
Tri-Delta sisters throughout her life.

She married Andrew M. Smith and lived in Dublin, Ohio where she raised her four daughters, Jennifer, Lauren, Leslie, and Carrie. Later marrying Thomas W.
Jones, together they happily shared their lives and their love for
Antiques, with Antique shops in Dublin, downtown Powell and on
The Square in Sunbury, finding treasures for more than 50 years.

In addition Judy was a member of the Sunbury Methodist Church
where she enjoyed the different church groups such as quilting and
doing the flower arrangements for the altar for over 20 years. She
will be fondly remembered for her love of antiques, artist projects
and creations, gardening, quilting, floral arranging and shelling on
the beach in Florida. Judy devoted her life to her daughters, her
faith, her friends and family.

Judy was preceded in death by her best friend and husband, Thomas
W. Jones, previous husband and father to her daughters, Andrew M.
Smith, and her sister and life-long friend, Janet Fox.

Judy is survived by daughter, Jennifer Smith Weihe, of Sunbury,
daughter, Lauren Smith Richards (Mark), of Worthington, OH,
grandson, Ben (Ronni), and newly-born great-granddaughter, Zoe
(who she was blessed to have met before her passing), and Riley
(Bianca), daughter, Leslie Smith Granich (Frank), of St Pete Beach,
FL, and grandson, Jim (Gina), daughter, Carrie Smith Schroeder
(Marc), of Sunbury, and beloved-granddaughter (who she called her
fifth daughter), Skylar. Step-daughters, Patricia Bowling ( Chelsea ),
and Sharen Hays (Jennifer and Julie), and family. She is also
survived by siblings, Phil Lowman (Carol), and Jeff Lowman
(LeeAnne), and many caring and supportive nieces and

Judy devoted her life to her daughters, her faith, her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

At this time we are holding off having a service to celebrate Judy’s
life until early next spring.
