Joshua Timothy Blauser

November 13, 1999 ‒ February 25, 2017

Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE: In some ways Josh Blauser was your typical teenager. Smart, active and athletic, he loved the outdoors, running and biking.  He played multiple sports and marched in the band.  However, Josh’s character and personality were anything but typical.  A young man who put others above himself, Josh had a huge generous heart.  Raised to respect others, he gave the best bear hugs, had the best smile, and genuinely loved life.

No longer bound to his earthly tent, Joshua Timothy Blauser of Bellville passed away Saturday February 25, 2017 following a seizure. He was 17.

The son of Tim Blauser and Dawn (Swiatek) Blauser, Josh was born November 13, 1999 in Cleveland.  A junior at Clear Fork High School, he earned varsity letters while playing the snare drum for the CFHS marching band.  Josh also lettered in tennis and soccer where he played centerfielder and midfielder for the Colts.  Soccer was one of Josh’s passions and he was chosen for the ‘Intensity’ award in the 2016 season.

Josh loved to snowboard and this year was employed at Snow Trails Ski Lodge.   Last summer he served as an intern for Storyside Church in Bellville.  Josh was strong and sure in his faith.  He was a member at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Mansfield.

Josh could make anyone laugh with his quick wit and contagious smile.  He remained positive and uplifting even when he wasn’t feeling well.  Josh was a sweet, thoughtful & loving son, brother, cousin, nephew, & friend.  He will be deeply missed and will remain forever in our hearts.

Josh is survived by his mother Dawn (Swiatek) Blauser of Bellville, father Tim Blauser of Bellville; sister Sarah Blauser and brothers Gabe and Drew Blauser; maternal grandparents Gary (Carol) Swiatek of Bellville and paternal grandmother Janice (Vince) David of Missouri; aunts and uncles Jennifer (Taha) Albanna of North Olmsted, John (Elizabeth) Swiatek of Bellville, Dr. Michael and (Tami) Swiatek of Bellville, Joseph Blauser of Ridgway, Pennsylvania and John Blauser of Ridgway, Pennsylvania; cousins Ryan McCune, Sabrene Albanna, Mariah and Mohammad Albanna, Diego Cerron-Portales, Isabella, Jackson, and Braeden Swiatek, Kaylee Gates, Elizabeth Launer, Danielle Knapp, Jessica, Derrick, Jerin, and Mason Blauser, as well as a large circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Bill Blauser.

Calling hours will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 1-7 pm in Storyside Church, 541 State Route 97 West, Bellville.  Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10am in St. Peters Catholic Church, 104 West 1st Street, Mansfield.  Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.  The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve Josh’s family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Joshua Blauser Memorial Fund may be made through First Knox Bank.

  • Dear Dawn, Tim, Sarah, Drew, and Gabe,

While the loss of a loved one is never easy, even when anticipated, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon.

We offer our sincere condolence and deepest sympathy on your loss. May the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers and the comfort in knowing that your loss is felt by many, help you through this difficult time.

I ask for God’s blessings on you and your wonderful family. May you find the courage and strength to move forward in peace and confidence and in knowing that his was a life well-lived.

Our sweet friends….we all had the privilege to know Josh. He was such a sweet young man. Even with the briefest of interactions, he was always making us smile. Out of all of us, Dan knew Josh the most; They both were working at snow trails. I bring this up, because every time Dan came home from work (working with Josh), he would burst out laughing randomly. When I asked him, “what the heck are you laughing at?” He would say, “mom, I worked with Josh Blauser today and he was hilarious!” True to form, Dan felt Josh was a stand up comedian. He was always looking forward to seeing him at work.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

    All our love,
    Dave, Stef, Dan,&Riley Lamport

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I am a friend of the Arnold family. Sometimes when a young person passes away – this poem helps. It was from a Blue Mountain Arts card years ago . It’s called HEAD START ON HEAVEN

    A Head Start On Heaven

When those we love have passed away
Our hearts at first are sad,
But here is a thought to comfort us
And a reason, instead, to be glad

They just got a head start on heaven
And beat us there by a little while.
They are already hearing the angels sing
And looking down on us with a smile.

The one of us they left behind
    Will miss them here below,
But when it’s time in God’s own plan
It will be our turn to go.

Then we’ll meet again in heaven,
    And be together for evermore.
They’ll be waiting there to welcome us
When we arrive at heaven’s door.

  • Dawn, Tim, Sarah, Gabe and Drew:
I cannot believe Josh is gone. I have memories from babysitting the kids when they were younger and Josh and Gabe picking on me. LOL. Josh was such a sweet young man. Everytime he stopped in at Dunham’s he said hello to me with a smile on his face.
You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. Don’t forget the Case’s are just right up the street if you need anything.
