Josh W. Brown

August 14, 1979 ‒ February 01, 2019

Butler, Ohio

If you can hear my voice there’s something I have to say

just one more talk just one more touch

if one’s too much then I just want to say

Thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me.”

Josh loved all music and these lyrics are from a befitting song ‘Thank You’ sung by Chad Gray.  If he had one final message to share with family and friends it would be;  “Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.”

Josh W. Brown, 39, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening February 1st, 2019.  He was born August 14, 1979 in Shelby.  Josh was defined by his love of family, especially his two children Brookelynn and David Brown as well as his passion for music.

Brookelynn and David were his life, and he loved spending time with them.  From 2-Pac to Slipknot, and The Doors, Josh appreciated all music.  He’d been to hundreds of concerts across the United States.  Even as a teenager, Josh wrote song lyrics and poetry.

Josh was a huge Cleveland Browns fan.  He cheered for all Ohio sports teams and followed WWE.

Josh was fearless, bigger than life and full of adventure.  More than anything, Josh will be remembered for his love of family.

Josh is survived by his children Brookelynn Rayne Brown and David William Brown; mother Elizabeth (Patrick) Hennen; siblings Israel Halfmoon (Courtney) Brown and Cherokee Ann Whitmore (Dwayne Bowen); Josh’s girlfriend Jubilee Joy Riley; the mother of his children Megan Gayheart and her daughter Paisley Boyer; nieces and nephews Josh Elliot, Amber Elliot, Destiny Greene, Cheyann Whitmore, Mycheala Whitmore, John Whitmore; great nieces and great nephews; step brothers Damien Hennen and Gabriel Hennen; as well as a large circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father David Charles Brown.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Josh Brown will be held Monday, February 11th, 2019 at 7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where his family will receive friends two hours prior, from 5-7pm.  Celebrant Dave Roberts will officiate.

  • You will never be forgotten brother I know your up there smiling at all of us will se you again one day

  • I’m Margaret Franklin, expressing my sorrow in learning of your loss. Death is indeed a cruel enemy. It is not a part of God’s original purpose for man. Gen. chpt. 1:vers 27,28. May our God of comfort give you the strength to endure to see the fulfillment of his promise to destroy death forever. He had this promise recorded at Revelation chpt 21:4. This hope will soon become a reality. Yes, we can all see our loved ones in good health on a paradise earth.

    With deepest sympathy
    Margaret Franklin
