Josephine Natalie “Mother” Meyers, age 93 of Delaware died Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Delaware Court Health Care Facility.

She was born in Marysville on December 25, 1910 to the late Salvatore A. “Sam” and Ignatia “Ceena” (Salamony) Dinovo. A lifelong Delaware resident and faithful member of St. Mary Church.

Josie worked as a volunteer cook for St. Mary Schools for many years. She was in charge of the school cafeteria where she cooked until she retired in 1984. She also worked as cook for the former Touchstone home for boys. She loved cooking, especially for her grandchildren. She was famous for her cooking skills both at home and school. She considered the kids she cooked for at school as her “kids” and in return was known as “Mother” to many.

She liked to crochet and her favorite hobby was ironing. She also ironed and cared for the alter linens for St. Mary Church.

Survived by her Daughter and Son-in-law; Roseann (Paul “Johnnie”) Jones of Delaware, 8 Grandchildren; Michele Pieper of Marion, Anthony Jones of Cleveland, John Michael (Sarah) Jones of Galena, Kelly J. (Michele) Jones of St. Joseph, MI, Gregory (Jody) Jones of Delaware, Natalie Bernstorf & Dale Lipps both of Delaware, Alicia (John) Green of Delaware, Charles (Kim) Nauman Jr. of Hilliard, known as “Mo-Mo” and “Honey” to her 17 Great-grandchildren; Joseph (Kelly), Jamie, Joshua, Jonathan Peters, Paul Pieper, Kyle, Andrew, Dustin, Zachary, Allison and Gregory Jones II, Ian and Caitlin Lipps, Twins Ceena Marie and John Green, and Josie Marie Nauman, 3 Great-great-grandchildren; Thomas Baldridge, Alexis and Alyssa Peters, Step Great-grandchildren; Kyle Eubanks, Cassandra Angier, Lynae (Russ) Looney, Rachel, Raymond, and Tiffany Hughes.

Also survived by Sisters: Anne Rowlands of Delaware, Mary Warner of Delaware, Seraphine “Feene” (Leonard) Wooley of Marion, Brothers; Michael (Mary) Dinovo of Delaware, Anthony (Mary) Dinovo of Huntsville, OH, and Sam Dinovo of Delaware, Son-in-law; Charles Nauman Sr., numerous nieces, and nephews, and special friend; Wanda O’Keefe of Delaware.

Preceded in death by her husband; Floyd J. Meyers on Dec. 10, 1970, they were married on May 28, 1941, Daughter Ceena Marie Nauman in 1978, Brothers: Fred, Gus, and Joe Dinovo.

Friends may call Monday 4-8 p.m. and prayer services 7:30 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Delaware, Fr. Anthony Dinovo and Fr. Kevin Kavanagh will serve as Co-Celebrant’s. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
