Josephine A. “Jody” Johnson Wolverton, 72, of Marengo, Ohio died Monday December 6, 2004 in Woodside Village Nursing Home.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 18, 1932 and worked as a telephone operator for an answering service there before moving to Marengo nearly 30 years ago. She was a member of the Marengo American Legion Post 710 Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Post. Josephine enjoyed playing poker and bingo.

She is survived by her mother Josephine G. (Pash) Stout of Mount Gilead, Ohio; a brother Jack (Lee) Van Dyke of Marengo, Ohio; a sister Janet (Keith) Simpson of Newcomerstown, Ohio; several step children and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Earl E. VanDyke, her step-father Russell E. Stout, her husbands Raymond J. Johnson and Robert Wolverton, and a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Ruth Van Dyke.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Wednesday December 8th from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held there at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 9th. Burial will follow in Marengo Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
