Joseph Wayne “Joe” Ogle, age 91, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Sullivan, Indiana, died Wednesday August 31, 2011 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. Joe was born on May 22, 1920 in Sullivan, Indiana to Oliver and Lucy (Curtis) Ogle. He served with the United States Marines at Guadalcanal during World War Two. Joe was a 64 year old member of Masonic Lodge #735 and the Lions Club both in Sullivan.
He is survived by his sons, Dr. Richard (Lynn) Ogle of Mount Vernon and Dr. Robert (Tonya) Ogle of Rockwall, Texas; 4 grandchildren; Dr. Brent (Dr. Jennifer) Ogle, Julie Kight, Tyra Ogle and Brooke Ogle, 11 great grandchildren and a sister, Susan Brummett of Indiana.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence (Burton) Ogle and a brother, James Ogle.
The Ogle family will observe a private graveside service in Sullivan, Indiana. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Joseph Wayne “Joe” Ogle.
