MANSFIELD: Joseph Raymond Yeager, 94, formerly of Elmridge Road. Mansfield, died Tuesday morning March 23, 2004 in Country Meadow Care Center following a long illness.

He was born October 30, 1909 in Joliet, Illinois, to Henry R. and Marguerite (Dunlap) Yeager, was graduated from Owosso High School in 1927, and earned his Business Degree from Cleary College in 1931.

In 1968 Joseph moved to Mansfield from Lima. He had worked 40 years with The United Telephone Company, retiring in 1974 as Commercial Superintendent.

Joseph was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Owosso, Michigan.

A loving and devoted husband, he is survived by his wife Florence Marie (Sutter) Yeager, whom he married July 17, 1938; grandchildren whom he cherished Katherine Lucille Yeager of Atlanta, Georgia and Daniel Joseph Yeager of Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law Dr. John C. Yeager and Elizabeth Yeager Velker; and a sister Thelma M. Armstrong.

The family will receive friends in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home on Thursday, March 25, 2004 from Noon until time for a 1 pm graveside service in Mansfield Memorial Park. The Rev. David Hartzfeld will officiate.
