Joseph M. Britt, 50, of Galion died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at home after an extended illness.

Born June 19, 1964, in Galion, he was the son of Michael A. and Ruth E. (Crane) Britt of Galion.

Joe was a graduate of Galion High School and worked as a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed working with wood and building things. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan and loved classic rock, especially the Beatles.

In addition to his parents he is survived by three children, Joseph Chung of Colorado Springs, Co., Patricia “Trissy” Britt of Cincinnati and Theodore “Ted” Britt of Galion; two grandchildren, Myles and Joel Britt of Bucyrus; siblings, Christopher Britt of Galion, Brian Britt of Galion, Michael (Francisco De La Rosa) Britt of Columbus and a brother-in-law, Arnie Reynolds of Galion.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Reynolds.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, 135 N. Liberty Street, Galion, Ohio 44833, with Father John Miller officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 S. Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.

  • So very sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. I knew Joe since the early days @ Dawsett Elementary School. Spent many good fun times with Joe laughing and hanging out. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to every family member, & may God Bless you and all the family members in this hard time.

  • Ruth..trissy…mike…teddy……im sorry for your loss….I was with the family for eight years and I often looked at joe like my own father….He was always there for me when I needed someone…….its hard to believe hes gone…I wont be able to listen to music the same he was always kicked back listening to music and having a good time he loved the boys very much I remeber good times we all had and ill make sure myles and joel are reminded how much there grandpa loved them…….if I can do anything to help I will……never will he leave me thoughts or heart….♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
