Joseph I. Ferenbaugh, age 91, of Gambier Rd., Mt. Vernon, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home. He was born on April 14, 1911, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late George H. and Nanna (Flemming) Ferenbaugh and had spent his lifetime in Mount Vernon. Mr. Ferenbaugh was retired from the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Mount Vernon where he had been employed as an electrician. He was a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church, the Mount Vernon Retired Men’s Club, a 65 year member and past master Mt. Zion Lodge #9 F&AM in Mount Vernon, Scottish Rite-Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine in Columbus, York Rite Masonic bodies Clinton Chapter #26, Kinsman Council #76 and Clinton Commandary #5 Knights Templar all of Mount Vernon, Baldwin Shrine Club in Mount Vernon, Ohio Eastern Star Chapter #236 in Mount Vernon, and the Knights of Pythias Lodge in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are two daughters, Jo Anne ( Richard ) Carrier of Mt. Vernon, Marilu ( William ) Meier of Lowellville, Ohio, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Sue McLarnan of Greenwich, CT. He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite (Taylor) Ferenbaugh, a sister Margaret Jennings and a brother Gus Ferenbaugh.

Friends may call at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 PM until 3 PM with a Masonic memorial service beginning at 3:15 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2 PM . Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
