Johnnie C. Madaris

Mansfield: Johnnie C. Madaris, age 70, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Mifflin Care Center following a long illness.
He was born January 13, 1939 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama the son of John Henry and Ruby (Roberts) Madaris.
Johnnie entered the U.S. Army in June of 1956 serving in Vietnam, and continued his service a total of 20 years retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Johnnie enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, and fishing. He was also and avid runner.
He is survived by his wife Jane Madaris of Mansfield whom he married June 30, 1985, three children Valecia and Justin Belding of Mansfield, Richard Madaris of Orlando, FL, and Betty Savage of Haltom City, TX; three grandchildren Elizabeth Lesney, and Susan and Sam Savage; four great grandchildren; a brother Raymond Madaris, sister-in-law Lucy Madaris; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Judy and Daniel Hamilton, and father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Edith Greenall.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son James Walker, and a brother George Madaris.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 4-6 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A military graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm in Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
Memorial contributions to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation may be made through the funeral home.
