John William Lahrmer

Centerburg, Ohio

John William Lahrmer, age 38, of Centerburg, died peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021 following a brief illness.  John was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) and worked for Fujitec, Gable and Thyssen-Krupp.  He attended The Vineyard Church of Delaware and was a long-time volunteer with Freedom Trail Ministries.  John was very family oriented, enjoyed helping his daughters with schoolwork and 4-H projects.  He was very handy and liked to tinker with cars, and when time allowed, he enjoyed fishing.  John was a graduate of Northridge High School, attended the Licking County JVS and completed courses at the Hobart Welding School in Troy, Ohio.

John was born February 27, 1983 in Monroe, Michigan to Martha A. (Spewock), who survives, and the late Fred E. Lahrmer, Jr.

John is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife of 18 years, Rachel N. (Dotson) Lahrmer; his proudest achievement, daughters, Faith and Meredith; sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Tony Duquette of New Hampshire; brothers and sister-in-law, Ryan Spewock of Homer, OH and twin, Joseph and Vicky Lahrmer of Mt. Vernon; parents-in-law, John and Penny Dotson of Johnstown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Heidi and Steven Holley of Johnstown, Lindsey and Justin Casper of Mt. Vernon; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving visitors from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3), Sunbury.  Funeral Service 11 AM Friday at The Vineyard Church of Delaware County, 1001 W Cherry St, Sunbury, OH.  Pastor Larry Hiles officiating.  Interment to follow at Homer Cemetery, Homer, OH.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Compassion International,
Colorado Springs, CO 80997 or Freedom Trail Ministries, 378 Chestnut St, Greenfield, OH 45123  in John’s memory.

    I am devastated to hear this, for you and your beautiful family. I saw john frequently and had several long, meaningful talks with him the last six years.
