John R. Mosley

John R. Mosley, age 82 of Delaware passed away Sunday,
August 12, 2012 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born in West Virginia on October 26, 1929 to the
late Roache and Easter (Thacker) Mosley. A resident of
Delaware since 1966, he retired in 1995 after working
25 years as a crane operator with General Casting.
Described as wonderful, he possessed only the best of
qualities: patient, kind, compassionate, and loving.
He enjoyed being at home surrounded by his family and
in his younger years also enjoyed coon hunting. As one
who could fix anything, he crafted toy furniture and
mended Barbie Dolls. He was a collector of children, a
collection which included those of the neighborhood. He
relished time playing with kids of all sizes and
treasured time spent with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years:
Dorothy (Compton), Children: Larry (Kathy) Mickey of
Ashley, Barb (Steve) Mayes, Jackie Steele, Manuel
Anzures all of Delaware, Angela Branham (Jeff Schlager)
of Cincinnati, 9 Grandchildren: Lynnette, Chris,
Melissa, Crystal, Tricia, Nathan, Matthew, Jonathan,
William, 7 Great-Grandchildren, Sisters: Vesta Lou
(Wallace) Hunt, Della (Bill) Hunt, Jean Hall, Brothers:
Willis (Donnetta) Mosley, Asey Mosley.
He was also preceded in death by son; David Mickey in
2002, grandson Danny Sheets Jr., and sister Polly
Staton .
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder
Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at
Valleyside Dr., Delaware, where services will be held
Thursday 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Donnie Akers officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
