John E. Katzeman

John E. Katzeman, age 46 of Centerburg, passed away Monday July 29, 2013, 2 years to the day of being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, holding his wife’s hand, 3 days before his 47th birthday.
He was born on August 1, 1966 in Canton to the late John R. Katzeman and Julie E. (Jackson) Katzeman of Columbus. He was a 1984 graduate of Thomas Worthington High School, 1991 graduate of Franklin University with a BS in Business Management. He was employed at Nationwide Insurance for 21 years most recently as a Sales Manager.
John was a former member of the Capital City Corvette Club and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, dirt bikes, motorcycles and cars, especially Corvettes. John was meticulous about his yard and keeping his cars clean. John devoted himself to taking care of his family, enjoyed being with friends and loved to vacation in Maui, Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years: Charline J. (Evans) Katzeman, married October 22, 1988 in Worthington; daughter: Chelsea of Centerburg; son: John Aaron of Centerburg; brother: Jay Katzeman of Mount Vernon; his canine companion: a Dachshund named Sadie; other family and friends.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Sunbury United Methodist Church. 100 W. Cherry Street, Sunbury where Memorial Services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastors Mike Mack and Brian Smith officiating. Internment will take place in Maui, Hawaii at a future date.
