John Adams, Jr., 89, of Marion died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Marion General Hospital in Marion.

Born April 6, 1923 in Huntington, W.Va., he was the son of the late John Adams, Sr. and Mary Olive Price Adams.

John was a World War II United States Army Air Corp veteran and former member of the Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. in Marion. He retired from Marion Power Shovel after 20 years where he was a welder and a pipe burner.

He is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Virginia and Keith Radabaugh of Marion, Mary Louise Coleman of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Judy Moon of Marion; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Betty Adams of Albany, Ohio and Michael Eugene and Becky Adams of Marion; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Gail Adams of Columbus and a sister, Alta Louise Stewart of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Adams.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, with Pastor Gary Grant officiating. Interment will be in Sixteen Cemetery with full military graveside honors by the United States Army and the Galion/Crestline area veteran’s organizations.
