John A. Lowe, 82, of Galion passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Signature HealthCARE of Galion.

He was born December 5, 1935 in Raven, Virginia and was the son of Roby A. and Virgie E. (Dotson) Lowe. On April 13, 1982 he married Ruth E. Malone and they enjoyed 24 years of marriage until her passing on October 31, 2006.

John worked from 1966 to 1991 in the storeroom for the former Komatsu Dresser. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith in Crestline. John enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, professional wrestling, telling stories of his childhood and loved his dog, Ranger.

He is survived by daughters Marie (Kurt Magers) Javens of Galion, Leshia (Greg) Rivers of Lexington, Patricia (Ralph) Castle of Galion and Erika (Brian) Parsley of Galion; sons Doug (Julie) Lowe of Shelby and Ricky (Tina) Lowe of Mt. Gilead; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister Nina Meade of Virginia; brothers Junior and Dicky Lowe both of Virginia and former wife Sylvia Hubbard of Galion.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a great-grandson Jerico Parsley; two sisters Lorraine Smith and Hazel Lester and three brothers Leonard, Brad and Noah Lowe.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9 with Gary Lewis, nursing home minister officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
