MANSFIELD: Joe W. Harding, 83, of Mansfield, passed away August 17, 2013 in Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland, after a long illness.

He is survived by his daughter Pat (Rick) Forsythe; one grandson Doug Newsome; three great granddaughters Kayla, Reghan and Avah Newsome; one sister Bea Yohn of Amherst and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in passing were his wife Milly, his parents Charles and Martha Harding; one brother Charles “Dick” Harding; and four sisters Jeanette Carver, Mildred Griggs, Edith Wisenberger and Dora Carroll.

Joe loved to talk about his time in the Navy, where he served aboard the U.S.S. James E. Kyes. He moved to Tampa, Florida in 1966, where he worked as a plumber, always believing “anything worth doing was worth doing right.”

Joe moved back to Mansfield in July 2010 where he lived with his daughter and her family, including Otis their dog, who he called “Poochie.” We love you Pop and will miss you always.
