Joe E. Algire

Joe Everett Algire, age 76, of Fredericktown, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.
He was born on February 11, 1932 in Knox County to the late John and Zola (Watson) Algire. He attended Fredericktown High School, and served with the United States Navy during the Korean War. Joe was an over the road driver in the trucking and transportation industry for over 53 years starting when he was 18 years old. His love in life was his travels throughout the United States that his vocation in trucking afforded him.
Surviving Joe are his children Steve Algire of Fredericktown, Brenda Algire of Mount Vernon, Kathy Salyers of Grove City and Kyle Algire of Jupiter, Florida; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his brother Jay (Jeanne) Algire of The Villages in Florida and a sisters Kay Young of Fredericktown and Sondra (Chris) Horn of Mount Vernon, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Young.
Following Joe’s wishes there will be no public calling hours or services. Private burial will be in North Fork Cemetery near Fredericktown.
