Joan Woodson (Kincade) of Edison, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2015, comforted by her loving family.

Joan was born on November 7, 1930, in Edison, Ohio, to the late Ohmer and Nina (House) Kincade. She graduated from Edison High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1948. Joan subsequently graduated from the White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio, receiving her certification as a registered nurse. Joan went on to have a more than 30-year career in nursing, primarily at Morrow County Hospital in Mt. Gilead, Ohio.

Joan leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of nearly 65 years, George L. Woodson, Jr. She is also survived by her three children: Patty (Ron) Risher, David (Mary Ann) Woodson, and Jim (Julie) Woodson; eight grandchildren: Joanna, Ryan, Laura, John, Adam, Megan, Marie, and Alyssa; five great grandchildren: Grant, James, Lorelai, Jackson, and Dina; her sister Nellie (Jack) Ramborger, and her brother John (Monica) Kincade.

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her sister Mary Evans.

Her family will great friends from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Edison United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Matt Skelton officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Edison United Methodist Church ( 335 S. Boundary St., Edison, OH 43320) or to Hospice of Morrow County ( 228 South St., Mount Gilead, 43338).
