Joan Marie Dewalt, 64, of Galion passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at home.

She was born November 27, 1954 in Galion and was the daughter of Harold and Elva (Adelia) Sipe.

Joan attended Galion Schools and enjoyed eagles and anything about Native Americans.

She is survived by son Richard (June) Dewalt of Rome, Ohio; granddaughter Baleigh Dewalt and sisters Sandra (Dean) Rinehart of Galion and Ramona Cress of Bucyrus.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son; infant granddaughter Lily; sister Virginia Sipe and three brothers Edward Sipe, Richard Barcus and Wayne Quinton.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4 with Pastor Loyd Caudill officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society serving Crawford County in care of the funeral home.

  • She was best Aunt in world loved her laughter and smile .We stay up late play cards all night and get up make breakfasts and richard and go play in yard. While my dad and Joan drink coffee. So many good times.will love yoy and miss you

  • I will truly miss you Joan we lived beside each for 17 years we shared a lot of stories together watched the deers and the humming birds went through bad and good times seen lots of snow remember when we could not even get out our doors we just laughted about it well you sleep hun I know fro gods promise in the Bible about the Resurrection hope I will see you again but only this time we’re not going to have no sickness I know death no one will be crying because those former things are passed away and that’s in Revelations and I know it you wouldn’t want me to be sad or Cindy Because You Loved Her you always gave her a hug every time you seen her you watch them grow up into a 22 year old young lady what she is now my love and my thoughts are with your family now I need to try to do everything I can to help your son get through this and Sandy oh and by the way Joan I got your hummingbird feeder up cuz I know that’s what you would have wanted candy
