  • Dear Tom and Julie I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family. I loved Aunt Joan and thought the world of her.

  • My heart goes out to you both! That lady became my favorite Aunt and helped me through so many things! Talking with her and sending things back and forth was such a highlight in my life! She is walking the Golden road as mom always talked about with her family. Sending my love.

  • Tom and Julie,
I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Joan. I remember her directing Godspell at church many years ago. I also remember her Fabulous laugh. She made me want to sing in choir even if I whispered my way through it (with Julie coaxing me along).

  • I’m the son of Fern L. Springer Austing. Mom and Joan were cousins; some years ago I took Mom to visit Joan from my home in Dennison, OH when she was up here for a visit from Texas. It was fun watching (and listening to) them play “Remember this” ! It’s sad to hear she passed away; Mom passed on December 7, 2015 (the same day her father, Harvey Springer, passed away in 1968. My condolences to the family!

  • First my dear friend Florren and now his lovely, faithful wife. The times we had moving to and back from Chicago. May God bless them both and may they be united in everlasting peace.

  • I have so many happy memories of time with Joan and Florren:

My first accompanying gig was under Joan’s direction at Gay StreetUMC (my GOODNESS, but she could sing!), her encouragement to follow the path of a musician, riding along to New Washington to sing in the Messiah, numerous trips to the farm to visit them and their animals :-), hearing their pride for their children (and feeling their love to be included as part of the “extended family”).

Rest in peace, Joan. You were well-loved!
