Jo Ellen Workman, age 39, of Columbus, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 21, 2015. Jo Ellen was born October 14, 1975 in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are her parents Michael “Mickey” Workman and Kathy (Hoey) Workman of Mount Vernon; her sisters Melissa Byrd Workman and Elisha Workman Whited; stepsister Leslie Foster; nieces Kendra Workman, Kiana Green and Savanah Green; nephew Noah Whited; uncle Fred Workman who always called her “Tootsie Roll”; uncle Terry Merritt “she was his special Butterfly”; aunt and uncle Karen and Mike Kepple and aunt and uncle Brad and Donna Price; very special friend, Linda McGuire who looked out for, loved and understood Jo Ellen and Jo’s mom (thank you for everything from frantic phone calls to just being there over 30 years. From “I just saw her- she was fine, to meeting us at the hospital for support.) And to the Heinzerling Memorial Staff , thank you for the love and care you gave Jo Ellen. More than just your job!

Jo Ellen was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Clarence and Helen Workman and Maternal grandparents Arnold and Edna Hoey.

Friends may call on Sunday from 11:30-1PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will follow at 1PM with Rev. Duane Kramer and Rev. L. J. Harry officiating. Burial will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
