  • I am so sorry to hear this. I was a classmate. She was always a lot of fun and we shared being parents of twins. I don’t know what happened but since it was unexpected then I assume she was not ill. In that aspect I am thankful she had no suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • I remember Jody as such a sweet young girl in her days of growing up in Centerburg. Had a nice visit with her just a few years ago when I was in Ohio. So sorry for your loss. May God bring you peace and comfort.

  • So sad and surprised of Jodys passing. I hate we haven’t been able to be together these last couple of years, but life gives us different paths and takes us away from things and people we have had in our lives. I will cherish the memories I have had with your mom in our younger years, and then all the fun and crazy things we did with your parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with all.of you at this very difficult time. Love to all,R

We are so very sorry to hear of Jody passing..and so very proud of the love and dedication you have given to your mother always. I will miss my “big sister” and was so blessed to have had her in my life. We shared so many memories, laughter and tears through the years. She was a role model in so many ways. I fondly remember how she spoke up for me when Charlie refused to admit I was no longer a little girl and could make decisions. I will .miss her laughter. These last years we know things were often difficult for her but, she kept her wit and loving attitude. Always. We loved her so much and will miss her deeply. I pray the the three of you find peace in the days to come and God keeps you close. Love, Aunt Sue and Uncle Rex

  • Sorry for the loss of your mother, may your families stay strong and loving to each other.

  • Debbie, Darla and Doug,
I’m so sorry to hear this! I have such vivid pictures of the adventures that your mom and my mom dared to share with me from their younger years. I’m sure they kept it “mild”. It always made me happy to see them together! They can now run around again. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers for the days ahead. Keep your precious memories close in heart.

  • So many great memories of your Mom. Debbie, Darla and Doug. My heart is heavy for you. Love always. Minder.

  • Debbie, Darla, & Doug,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom! She was such a great supporter of all of you during your athletic events in high school and then also with your kids. I have really fond memories of your Mom. My thoughts are with all of you! May you find peace and comfort in the good memories of your parents as they are surely reunited. RIP, Jody!

My deepest sympathy to Denny also! It was always fun greeting the two of you at athletic events!

  • Jody was one of the all time sweetest gals ever. She was four years behind me in school, but, being Centerburg, four years was nothing. Jody would walk by our house to and from school. We would always chat. Bob and I always felt bad for your mom and dad, cause all three of you played basketball, on the same night!
Your parents were both dear people. Jody’s smile will be missed.
You all are in our thoughts.

    Love to your family,
    Bob and Nancy Frost

  • I was saddened by the news of my sweet, dear cousins passing. She was always such a joy for me to spend time with.I have nothing but good memories ,and look forward to being with her again in heaven.God’s peace to you Doug,Debbie, and Darla, your mom was a very special person.

  • My deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. Words alone cannot ease the pain felt when grieving the loss of a loved one. The bible gives us comfort during these difficult times with a beautiful promise for the future. In Revelation 21:4 God promises “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. May you and your family find comfort in your loving memories with Jo Ellen and in the promise of a resurrection stated in the bible, when we will soon see our loved ones who have passed away (Acts 24:15). May these words give you hope and comfort.

  • Some things never change. She was just the perfect cheerleader with that infectious smile and natural warmth. I had not seen her in many years until she returned in 2012 for a reunion held in honor of Coach Smith and Coach King. Just seeing her there with that big smile made me feel 18 again. She never lost her “bigger than life” personality.

I am sorry for your loss and keeping you in my prayers. I know all of you have wonderful memories – allow them to comfort you during these difficult days and in the days to come.

    In Friendship,

  • Debbie, Darla, Doug and families
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

All of you have numerous memories to cherish and give you comfort. Hopefully, there will be smiles and laughter that accompany those memories.

Mom and I have been reminiscing over old times which include all the fun times and some disappointing times we spent at the softball field (sometimes trying to stay warm) and in the gym. Our parents were always there for us. Your parents will just have a different vantage point to cheer at games and support you in your lives.

  • To Jody’s family and Denny,
We are so sorry to hear about Jody’s passing. We crossed paths with her and Denny numerous times over the years. She was a lovely and gracious woman. She will be missed by many.
